30 Bed Room Hostel

Hostel rooms are comfortably-furnished and make like a good home. There are options of 30 Rooms to choose from, for out guest's convenience. In this kind of accommodation, guest have access to common TV at reception, RO for hot, cold and normal drinking water and other activities within the hostel premises. Also includes the following facilities:

  • 24x7 telephone connectivity provided ar reception
  • Electricity and water supply in all rooms all time
  • Mess facility at center of all room
  • Caretakers and housekeeping services are provided in hostel during day and night
  • vehicle parking place near hostel for the guest

Auditorium

Auditorium is a place to conduct events and meetings of the institution. It is used to group the peoples at one place, and conduct effective interaction with the office staff, or the guests, who have attended for meetings or workshops. So, it needs to be spacious and convenient to hold these meetings, and we have included these design elements into our auditorium. At SFRTI, the auditorium is quite spacious, and it can seat approx 140 of peoples. The dais is big enough for several guests, and it is suitable for projecting the videos or slideshows too. We have provided centralized air condition for the comfort of the occupants. A high quality projector is arranged with a crystal clear screen, while the screen is usually placed at the dais wall. We have also provided the required sound system, which can keep you involved in the event. The superior comfort levels of our auditorium have made many events successful.

Meeting Hall for Conference

Meeting rooms are tailored for your meeting requirements. we have two meeting rooms which are ideal for smaller groups, and are more oriented for centralized viewing.

  • Big Meeting Hall - The Big Meeting Room at SFRTI main building is ideal for open discussions and board meetings for more than 70 Person
  • Small Meeting Hall - The Small Meeting Room at SFRTI main building is ideal for round-table discussions and board meetings with Seating Capacity of 30 Person

Central Forestry Library

A library is a collection of sources of information and similar resources, made accessible to a defined community for reference or borrowing. Library is a sole of the research for this campus has also facilitated with library.

Central Forestry Librar of SFRTI aims at providing access to its printed resources such as books and journals for the use of SFRTI trainees, front line staffs & for guests. The library is supervised by a librarian. library has enclosed with more than 695 books, numbers of magazines, National international environment status reports, and numbers of volume of Indian foresters.

It is remarkable that establishment of solar photovoltaic system was made with the financial & Technical help of C.G.State renewable energy development agency (CREDA), which is first in our State of its kind.

Chhattisgarh Certification Society

The Chhattisgarh Certification Society, INDIA (for Forestry & Agriculture) for certification was registered (Registration no. 405) on 18th of September 2003 as an autonomous and independent society under the Chhattisgarh Society Registration Act, 1973 (serial no. 44 of year 1973). CGCERT provides the services for various Forestry & agricultural produce including the Organic Certification as per the National Standards for Organic Production (NSOP), 2005 of Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, New Delhi. CGCERT is accredited in INDIA by NAB (National Accreditation Board), Ministry of Commerce of GOI, under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). Our accreditation number is NPOP/NAB/0018. CGCERT provides an efficient and cost effective certification services that protect the interests of producers in terms of better financial returns on one hand and other hand it facilitates the consumer with authentic produce & products.

The Chhattisgarh Certification Society

Personnel of CGCERT have undergone various national & international training programmes conducted by APEDA, Ministry of Commerce, GOI & European Union under TIDP Project for developing and implementing organic policies and organic certification programme. Personnels of CGCERT have also been exposed to various other trainings conducted by Bureau of Indian Standards, Noida & Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal to become more proficient in the respective scope of activities. In order to learn more about the relationship between organic buyer & seller in the international market and exposure to organic production and certification. CGCERT has also participated in various produce/products Conclave including BIOFACH-2008 in Nurenberg, Germany. CGCERT has now become an accredited autonomous organic certification body in Chhattisgarh. The inspection and certification services of CGCERT shall be in accordance with the national standards of organic production (NSOP) of India and shall conform to ISO Guide 65 (EN 45011). The NPOP for the production and accreditation system has been recognized by European Commission and Switzerland as equivalent to their country standards. Similarly, USDA has recognized NPOP conformity assessment procedures of accreditation as equivalent to that of US. With these recognitions, Indian organic products duly certified by the accredited certification bodies of India like CGCERT in accordance with the desired standards will be accepted by the importing countries.

State Centre for Climate Change

The State Centre for Climate Change and Knowledge Management Cell was established in August 2015 by State Government order and is housed in the campus of State Forest Research and Training Institute, Raipur the State Centre on Climate Change is the apex body to coordinate and implement the Chhattisgarh State Action Plan on Climate Change (CSAPCC). The Centre is guided by a Steering Committee, which has already been constituted by the State Government under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary with members; Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries from concerned departments, representatives from national Institutions and subject experts. The Nodal Officer for CSAPCC is the member secretary of this Steering Committee.

State Centre for Climate Change

The centre is also serving as an agency to co-ordinate among various departments at state level and district committees on Climate Change. The centre works under the Steering Committee. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Climate Change) and State Nodal Officer of the Climate Change is the Director of this centre. The centre is also supported by Department for International Development (DFID) a fund generated by the government of United Kingdom as there is a memorandum of understanding between Government of India, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change and DFID to support six states including Chhattisgarh for mitigation and adaptation of Climate Change.

Soil Test Lab

Soil testing laboratory has been working since April 2012, for the study of physic chemical characterises of soil, find out the species suitability of the specific study site. This laboratory has various advance equipments such as UV Spectrophotometer, Flame Photometer, PH meter, E.C. meter, Nitrogen analyzer and Horizontal shaking machine etc. There are more than 1700 samples was analyzed till date.

Soil Testing Lab was established in the institute in the year 2012 under the project sanctioned by State CAM PA.

Major Objectives of the Soil Testing Lab:
  • To Study the physio-chemicai characteristics of soil.
  • To Find out the species suitability of the site.
  • To Suggest the measures for the reclamation of degraded sites
  • To Establish soil-vegetation relationship for plantation purpose.
Achievements of the Soil Testing Lab:

Approx 1800 soil samples of different plantation sites of forest divisions and Working Plan division of six circles have been analysed in the Soil Testing Lab by the end of June 2018. The parameters of the testing of soil samples are following

  • pH (Hydrogen Ion Concentration)
  • Electrical Conductivity
  • Organic Carbon %
  • Available Nitrogen (kg/ha)
  • Available Phosphorus (kg/ha)
  • Available Pottassium (kg/ha)

Most of the soil samples were found of acidic nature.

Nursery

A nursery is a place where plants are propagated and grown to usable size. Nursery of SFRTI is located near pond of SFRTI, which is 500 meter away from the SFRTI main building. We have sufficient space for propogation of approx 1 Lakh plants. A solar pump is established in nursery area which helps to regulate continuity of water supply for plants.

In 2013, various types of medicinal plants were prepared and farmers and school institution have been distributed free of cost to the hospital. like this, Various types of medicinal plants can be prepared in our nursery.

Staff Quarters

The SFRTI has its Staff Quarters inside the campus, since SFRTI is is too far from main city Raipur. These quarters, containing two bedroom and a Hall, provide conducive accommodation to the Institute's Staff Members and Researchers pursuing various Academic and Research programmes of the Institute.
